despite clear evidence of the injector problem and the resultant damage on certain 3.0dt upon reaching around 80k miles it appears Isuzu still make the process of claiming repair costs arduous and drawn out requiring detail info on service history, mileage etc. This is inspite of the fact that this fault was inbuilt with the clock ticking and operator performance or service history would have no bearing.
While Isuzu as a company obviously need to protect themselves they must have records showing the range of vehicle manufactured with the defective injectors etc and have budgeted a set aside sum to cover potential and future warranty claims.
While Isuzu are to commended that they are still repairing cars at their cost which are out of warranty and several years old, how much better it would be for owners of vehicles within the magic range if on discovering a blown engine Isuzu just told the dealer to get on and fix it - instead the attitude is oh dear what caused that!!!!!!!!!!  with the onus on the owner to get the vehicle to a dealer and risk money while the dealer investigates the cause of the failure etc etc.

It was largely at the suggestion of yourself and Chris B that I submited a claim to Isuzu after there initial brush off. Following it thro during six weeks of back and forth with Isuzu UK.
However I'm glad to be able to report that they have been very honourable and the dealer reports authorised the fitting of a complete new engine in my troper. Work starts tomorrow removing whats left of the old one.
Again a big thanks to you guys and the forum for the info and support.
