Hi   New to the site had my 3.2 trooper swb 1995 for just over a year now. When driving everything appears to be normal until you either stop in traffic or have the clutch in to pull out of a junction when the engine just revs to 2500rpm.This has only just happened any ideas or thoughts would be welcome

G'day,

High idle is a commonly reported problem. Too much air being fed to the motor.

1. Take out and clean the Idle Air Control (IAC) and the throttle body portal into which it fits (see pics).

2. Gently pull on the IAC pintle (centre rod) before re-seating in the throttle body. Ensure that the O ring is present and sound.

3. Reset the computer (ECU/ECM/PCM) by removing the fuse in the engine bay relay/fuse box for half a minute or so.

4. Start the motor and let the ECU adjust the IAC.

If that doesn't do it, look for other air leaks into the intake manifold: hoses, PCV, gaskets etc.
