Hi all and Happy New Year to You.  Here I am once again got the last problem with the relay switch fixed and now I am having problems starting the engine.  Have just recently got a new battery but there seems to be something draining it.  Once it starts it runs great it's just getting it started.  I have recharged the battery and once I park it up I disconnect the battery then reconnect before I start up again.  Is it a hard job to check the fuses and try and eliminate the problem that way, bearing in mind I am a woman or is this a job for auto electrian?  I have a 1993 3.1TD Bighorn.

Any help greatly appreciated, I really do not want to sell but I might have my hand forced.

Sounds like a bad earth...

It would definatly be worth taking the non essential fuses out (say stereo, central locking) and seeing if the problem stops... although in the end, if you don't really know much about electrics and auto sparky really isn't that expensive - have a flick through the yellow pages and get some quotes

Hi, ive had a alternator discharge the batt overnight and i found it by chance, when the engine is cold (with the batt left connected) feel the alternator, if slightly warm its your alternator is discharging your battery.
