HI im new here and looking for some help im in the prosess of buying a 2005 dmax crew cab its a 3litre diesel ls model the question i have is under the bonnet should there be any sort of a cover over the engine like in most engines or should it be just like looking at the bare engine also should they be nouisy while running and any other info would be a help.thanks

No plastic covers on these, the engine is direct injection so has the `Transtit snarl` on tickover and acceleration but quieten on a steady throttle.

thanks for that dave was just a bit worried when i opened the bonnet is there anything else i should look out for.

Nothing special to look for mate, as you will know its a totally different engine to  the 3 litre diesel in the trooper.
I`ve found it to be a good strong, economical, reliable motor, ideal for towing. Wink

Ha, my new 3.0 common rail engine still sounds like a transit.... or a tractor.
