Troops booked in for its MoT on Thursday AM, just had a mechanic friend change the cam belt and tensioners as I just don't have the time, I need to stick half a legs worth of Shell V power in it to help calm the emissions and just give it a quick once over to make sure theres nothing obviously hanging off anywhere.  Wish em luck, its the first one since I bought it.

Mines got new tyres on, has had a new brake master, new rear disks, new pads all round, calipers stripped and cleaned, bled twice, once by the main dealer (and the brakes still feel a little spongey) and a new rad since I bought it.  I'm hoping for a first time pass but these days who knows?

Fail  Sad  and then pass  Very Happy   It failed on N/S headlamp too low which I had a fair idea was the case so he adjusted it for me foc and passed it.  Got a couple of advisories though, front to back brake pipe slightly corroded, rear chassis minor rust (he said its just surface rust mainly over the rear wheels) which I'm intending to sort out this summer with a wire brush, rust convertor and some POR15, waxoyl and underseal anyway and front brakes out of balance which I think is probably down to a sticky caliper so I'll give em another clean up when I service it.

HID headlight  conversion kit's here too

Well done mate....

In the 5 years I've had mine, it has always passed 1st time with no advisories ever. Am I just lucky or is it all going to go horribly wrong at one time....  Rolling Eyes

You obviously look after it well.  To be fair this is the first MoT since I bought it in July so it gives me an indication of stuff to do.

I've just been reading the advisory note again and the brake advise is as follows:

Brakes Advisories: RBT Front Brake Imbalance 16% Front wheels, your vehicle has only just met the front brake imbalance requirements.  It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. (3.7.A.2e)

Now does this mean an imbalance left to right or front to back?  If its front to back then I guess it means the load adjusting valve on the back axle may have seized open allowing the back to brake too much.  If its left to right then its probably just a sticky caliper.  Can anyone translate this computerised babble into plain english?
