Nice truck there Giles

Word to the wise. I've got the same roofrack. The plastic coating was harbouring quite a lot of rust. I expected it where there were scratches, but the main spars were quite badly rusted as the water had got into the mesh some how.

I've stripped off the plastic, and cut out the mesh and it'll just be painted in the future. I could get it powdered, but I've got a few more mods to it planned.

Hi thanks for the warning about rust

Yes it`s a long wheel base rack modified (not shortened)
I tried to get a SWB one (hens teeth) but having said that I need the length
to carry the club marquee from event to event the poles just fit nicely.
Also the extra lenght helps protect the roof and rear spoiler from trees & branches

As the clutch had stared to judder when hot pulling my caravan I decided its was time to replace it
Also it seemed a good idea to lift the engine and gearbox back into its original place in the body
and give more transfer box and exhaust clearance.
Not thinking this was enough work for the weekend I also removed the front axle and fitted the
front locker , a fairly straight forward job if the instructions were clearer.

Having fitted the clutch, lifted the engine, fitted the locker and made a tempery exhaust from cat back
cant wait for next weekend to go test it @ Stainby Lincolnsire.

I will report back how much difference the locker has made

Gave the Trooper a good test this weekend at Stainby Lincolnshire
(Possibly the only place it rained)

WOW!!!  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy   what a difference  a front locker makes (with Grizzley Claws)
If it remains reliable I rate it nearly as good as my old SWB  G-wagen

On very slippery climbes it doesn`t want to swap ends all the time , It blew the Moded (with lockers)Disco`s out of the water on trials, the only vehicles close were a LWB G-wagen and a Pinzgauer
We all had great fun not realy competative    Wink

With the current exchange rate It was the best modification so far
