No, but it's one of those things I'd love to give a try... I've a little open top boat for pottering (little seagull outboard to go with it - all propper 60's style ), but that itself needs some wood work doing - down the list, but it's just, like everything else, getting the time _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

I enjoyed it that much i have put a winch up for sale on fle bay (not one of me truck) to help towards buying a Topper! Looking forward to getting out in the summer
DX, remember as a kid we had a little fishing boat and used to go out from Filey! That had a little seagull engine on the back, damn good little chuggers but could take hours to get anywhere when you were pointing into the wind
Cheers

Well the dinghy turned out not to be as battered as i thought.............................
And here it is! Needs a little work, could do with a bit of a rub down and a new coat of paint, but it came with everything to get it on the water!
Will make sure i get some pics when i take it out for the first time
Cheers
Mark
This is what it should look like in the water

Those were taken saturday, it was a very calm breeze. Nothing to get your heart racing but a nice afternoon sailing!
Sunday however was a different matter! The wind picked up and like a fool i entred the club race
On the last lap i was caught by a gust of wind while making a turn, the result was an upside down boat
This is what i was attempting to do, after the race i practiced this manuvoer and went over a further 3 times, I am now well practised at righting a capsized dinghy and getting better at turning
Cheers

i love sailing but havent been for years. i also learnt when i was 10 ish on bosons toopers and wafairers or how ever you spell it. i got lessons in deptford in 1987 and it was 30p all day with an instructor. the same place is still going but its over £25 now . miss it loads and would love to go if i had time and money on my side. loving your boat mate. looks like a lazer, isit? they were fast but you had to be over a surtan weight too sail them and i wasnt heavey enough when i was 10 so couldnt have a go _________________ presumption is the mother of all f**kups |
