|
|
My local Isuzu dealer has closed down and it's a 40 mile journey to another. However there is a good Vauxhall dealer 11 miles away where I have seen Montereys.
Can someone please advise me if the Vauxhall dealer would be able to service my 3.0 Trooper properly or should I drive the 40 miles to the Isuzu dealer. |

they will be able to do the basics ok but if you start getting in to things like tech2 being needed they might struggle a bit |

Hi they shouldn't have a problem even if they need to use tech 2 - don't forget the ecu and electronics were all Isuzu and the connections is standard
i have already been assured they can plug in my Vehicross and dabble with the ecu so i see no reason why the cannot dabble with a trooper / monteray
cheers

A Vauxhall dealer has Tech 2 and software for the Monterey/Trooper to go with it. The only thing is their software isn't as well developed as Isuzu's so there is a number of checks and tests they can't do. They cannot, for instance, test-fire the injectors to confirm the integrity of the injection system circuitry. I'd suggest that for routine stuff your Vx dealer will be OK but if you need more specialised help your Isuzu dealer should be able to be more useful - theoretically, at any rate! As with most franchises there can be a big difference in attitudes and competence. |

as topvaux says it's the software that they use that limit their ability also unless they have got an ex isuzu technician there they aint going to know what they are looking at! |
