Hi, when my 1994 Bighorn (3.1d Auto) is started in the morning, or if it has been left long enough to be fully cold (time depends on weather), the car will rev freely in neutral, but will only move at walking pace, until the revs pick up. It also puts out loads of smoke. This problem goes away when the engine is warm. Has anyone had this problem and more importantly, solved it!
Also, when the engine revs above about 3000, which is only when going up hills the way I drive, it starts to smoke again. Other than this it drives and shifts great, apart from letting go of overdrive if the go pedal is pressed to hard, from reading other postings, this seems a common trait for these cars).
BTW, I get about 25mpg and the engine isn't consuming significant quantities of oil. |

Also forgot one thing. I hope the fast warm up switch is not on. This also causes what you described. |

If it's only when cold could well be knackered glow plugs? _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :
