Hello everyone I am slowly getting the 'issues' sorted on my 3.0.

Now I am looking at getting a touch more power out of the car after the recall injectors seemed to sap a good chunk of power.
I am sure I read that Chris had tried a tuning box sometime ago, I cant find that now.

So there are a few products on the market black boxes and the like....

I am struggling to justify the 4-5hundred pond cost for 'claimed' 20hp gains.  Perhaps I am sceptical.

I come from a 200sx tuning backgraound so was thinking of trying the same basic principles.
Freeing up the breathing with an air filter and cold air feed, exhaust, removing/blocking the egr bigger intercooler etc.
Has anyone had theirs remapped on a rolling road?  A lot of the german diesels seem to respond well.

My mate had the uprated box/chip in his 3.0 trooper 4ish years ago and said he noticed a difference in power and economy but the same chip is double the price now!!

Any advice or experiences would be appriciated.

Owen Very Happy

I tried the TUNIT box for mine... worked wonders on the power but induced a misfire between 2500-2800 rpm  Rolling Eyes  I took it off and gave it away.

Not yet... I would like to have it re-mapped but not sure if I can justify the £££ yet  Rolling Eyes

What happen's to the 3.0l?

Our 3.0l was as fit as f**k before the injector problem/engine replacement now it's only little better than the 3.1 Sad

Ive never had anything to do with perormance chips although i'm a little sceptical about making your engine more economical, more power for less fuel, just dose'nt add up Rolling Eyes
