It's a tungsten steel reverse thread Wink

Basically, the groves on a thread, you drill out the hole to the correct size and wind a helicoil in to the hole, and hey presto new threads.

Have a google - there's more there than can be answered here...

Very easy to use.
Drill the hole with drill supplied, tap hole out with tap supplied.
Screw helicoil onto fitting tool, now screw helicoil into re-tapped hole.
If you have room under the threads, now snap locating tab off the helicoil.
Simple Wink

Damn expensive though - metal putty is high on my list if it's only a rocker cover... head - now that's a different matter...

Metal putty is used in back street garages.
I prefer proper workmanship.
Sorry, that's my way of being sure it will last.
But, I suppose you pay for what you want done.
