hi is the fuel  pump in the tank on my 89 2.8 turbo diesel ? is it electric  ? as i am not getting any diesel through at all many thanks

No in tank pump, just the injection pump on the engine.  Chances are the fuel lines have rusted off where they go in to the tank, this is a very common problem.
