A good day out today - despite quite a few mishaps and mechanical setbacks

started off doing chapel gate - up the rocky section and down the tarmac/rocky section - quite extreme - certainly the most extreme greenlane ive ever encountered (although ive done it before)

quite a few steep angles and big rocks, managed to reshape my side step - as did the bloke in the toyota landcruiser

heres a pic before we set off

then it was decided to try and turn round and do the lane the other way - this is where most problems started - and finished

chris managed to snap a track rod end - but twister and keith had spare ones Shocked
so chris fitted a new one to the MU and winched up the tricky bit

the waffles were laid and matski made it up that section

then gary had a go - and managed to bend BOTH track rods - so the next couple of hours were spent swapping parts from car to car to get them off the lane to safety

CHris went off to swap cars at half time - and brought his montery out to play

heres a pic of me

nice scenery

convoy

then we did another nice lane quite good

another pic - of twister on chapelgate

then we trried to end up with doing another lane chris had on his map - started nice but was soon steep and rocky

paul (frontera) was in lead - gave it some to get up a step and busted his cv joint - managed to winch up

everyone else reversed down, said their goodbyes and went their seperate ways

thanks to everyone i met, good day, but the last lane was a mini chapelgate Shocked  Shocked

gonna have to get a bodylift done - hope my mrs wont notice the truck getting any taller

I was very inpressed with my kumho kl71 tyres, let the m down to 16 psi, they gripped very very well on the rocks

I await everyone elses reviews / photos and stuff

p.s. - saw some of the best looking ramblers ive ever seen Wink  Laughing

Was a STORMING day, great to put a couple more faces to names, and always a good chuckle Wink

I'll pop a couple of pics up, unfortunatly I didn't have my camera on me when twister got stuck on the track leading up to chaple gate ##cough## did I mention that - sorry  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

I'll sort my pics out, was a great day and reversing down chapelgate with 1 wheel steer was fun!!! i got a little panel damage and took paint off my new rear suspension arms, i'm gonna get some uprated tie rods from the states and would advise anyone whos lifting this high to get some, seems they're put on quite an angle so stressed! live and learn! pretty much wrecked a front tyre too!!
After a bit of messing around with recovery sending a small van and shift changes they turned up and took me home even diverted to drop my passenger off, got it on my drive and welded the tie rods back together so could park in the garage  Shocked  driver damaged my drive a bit but it'll repair.
Thanks to twister for the loan of the tie rods and thanks to chris for organising..... when we going again?! was a good day considering!  Very Happy
Matt hope the knee is ok!
was a cheap day on fuel atleast only drove 130 miles in total  Very Happy  Very Happy
