Just posting a pic from the GLASS site showing why stanage was closed a while back.

Idiots from an affiliated club!

Lucky they didn't close it for good.

And people wonder why I bang on and MOAN about lane use,
Btw the wayfairer in wales has been badly damaged to, some muppets went off piste.

Quote from northwest4x4
Quote:
Yesterday, from a distance, I watched three vehicles (looked like two Discos and one stripped down type thing) churning up the top of the Wayfarer, by the plaque. One was driving through the trench created on what used to be a nice picnic spot, and two were driving along the ridge to the south, following a footpath!
As I approached the top, they drove off in the opposite direction.
Then, about half an hour later, a cyclist who I had earlier passed, met me where I had stopped further along for a brew, and told me that five more (three Land Rovers and two Suzukis) had turned up after I left the summit, and done exactly the same thing.
Just what the hell do we have to do to stop these cretins, before they succeed in getting these roads shut permanently? Everything on either side of the road is a SSSI.

It's the bit at the bottom near the car park. Was a 4-5 inch puddle last time I went up!

Fing idiot - had he driven straight through he'd have not got stuck, before he did that, it was a bit muddy but actually reasonably solid (dylan drove through ok with his with no spinning...)

AND WHAT IS THAT FRONTERA DOING? that's peat up there !!!, so it's just trashed the heather and everything else on the bank... GGRRRRRR

I'm guilty of driving round there a couple , but since last time I've been up there's a hell of a mess on that slope... It's a nice track that and would be really bad to loose it...
