Hi...as the subject says can anyone tell me the interval change of the timing belt on my trooper 3.1 L reg iv had the car since feb 08 done bout 6K miles and the light on the dash came on yesterday....and what sort of price should i be paying for this...is there any way of telling if this has been done previously ete is it just the belt or is there tensioners etc to do too......

There is a tentioner and idler pully that you would be advised to swap if you don't know the history of the car. These can be bought cheeply from Milner.

60 000 miles or 6 years which ever is sooner.

As Matt says, if you don't know the history it's worth swapping (they are interferance engines which means if a belt snaps you've problems)

The light on the dash can be switched off by removing the binicle and on the back of the circuit board for the guages there is a brass machine screw next to an empty hole - move this screw over to the empty hole (leaving the hole it was in empty) if that makes sence.
