I have been experiencing coolant loss for some months.. I hope  I have found why..?

A 1/2" rubber pipe from the thermostat that disappears under turbo has blown next to thermostat housing.  I think it has been letting coolant escape as steam for a while and finally given up.. theory?

Anyone know what it is and what to buy to replace?

Sounds like the engine might have got a little hot and blow the head gasket on no/ 1 cylinder.  If that goes it'll leak down the face of that side of the engine just behind the water pump?

Definately split pipe...  heard the hiss of escaping steam somewhere behind the stat housing - thought at first of head gasket but on refilling with water it most definately quite literally poured out of the split in the hose....

If it's close enough - yeah - stanley knife and cut just after the split.... if it's the one i'm thinking keep a very close eye on the water level though for potential head gasket Wink

The pipe was too short once cut.... worth a try... bought and fitted new length of pipe this morning.

Will monitor over coming days.... thanks for your help.
