I've the chance of a cheap 2.8 Frontera, which looks pretty reasonable, new brakes, tyres, clutch and some mot. My query is, if I take it as a plaything, are there  cheaper options regarding insurance, limited mileage or so forth. Any recommendations?

Thanks, how does it work, in regards to no claims if you have another main vehicle, can you only have bonus on one? Gotta keep costs down to appease the wife!

I Have a classic limited mileage and guaranteed payout on the VehiCROSS £360 this includes recovery etc
- classic policies have no no claims or stuff just a yearly policy each year
very good but they do need piccies for the guarenteed payout
cheers
Steve

Only NCD on the main vehicle, upto 1 year on the MU now... limited millage keeps the cost down though.

You'll get 2 NCD's going though, so kinda handy in a weird way?  I've 7 and 1 at the mo, If I have to make a claim, I can at least keep one of them.

What level of cover was the MU, for that money?

3rd Party F&T  Fully comp isn't worth it on a toy IMO - it's going to get dented anyway...  and I personally use a lump hammer to straighten it back out  Wink

Pleasantly surprised, Sureterm quote £190 TFT, for 5,000 miles, and 10% loading for mods, but includes green lane and off roading. Adrian Flux same cover not worried about mods, £ 171 for 3,000 miles.
