New to this site, but from what I've read, it seems fab for owners of Isuzu's finest ???!!
Sorry to be a pain, but have another starting problem with my 2001 100,000 miles Trooper: Took car into field, switched off. Never able to start it again. cranks, apparent Oil Pressure but no fire up.  Was running fine till then apart from Check Engine light, which from my previous experience of Troopers- this is my 3rd- is TPS, no major big deal, it always seems to work. Took car to Isuzu agent (NOT main dealer) Replaced injectors, ceramic heater etc. under warranty recall. Still non start. Diagnosed failed HP oil pump. Gave me major price shock for work, took car away, supplied and fitted good s/h pump, still no joy. Local 4WD specialist asked to help, diagnosed failed OP sensor, replaced, no joy. Took car to ECU specialist in Loughborough who diagnosed failed ECU. Major big bucks to spend. Any other clues anyone??? This all seems crazy and it seems that whatever else might be wrong with it it never needed the HP Oil Pump, just the sender. Any help/pointers would be much appreciated.

Would be surprised if it is failed ECU - but you can have them fixed for approx £200 get on eebuygum there is a specialist in Derby would will fix if you send it to them (thats the ecu)

If it wont fire then I would suggest the OP sensor has gone again - mine went twice in about 2 months

Yes - the BRAKE LIGHT fuse operates the ECU on some models!

I had a faulty ECU and had an excellent experience with these guys - see my post on the subject - http://www.itocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7394

Otherwise I'd suggest you could do with somebody who actually KNOWS how to use Tech2 with ISUZU software (VX isn't nearly as comprehensive).

I found it was most cost-effective to transport my 3.0 from Norfolk to Witney (Oxford) where Cotswold Subaru and Isuzu hang out. They are quick, accurate, dead honest, helpful - and economical to boot! (No, I'm not a shareholder!)

could be as simple as a crank sensor or as major as a new engine but as you have done the most common things already your going to need a tech2 and somebody who knows what they are looking for

Maybe it's the crank sensor but I think your suggestion of a Tech 2 visit sounds best
