Hi,
I have an M reg 3.1td Trooper that I need gone asap, (preferably this weekend, so late notice I know), and I would happily give it away if anyone can make use of it. Before you get too excited, though, there are some things you need to know.
The Trooper has just been parked up at the back of my daughter's house for many years. It has been on SORN for most of that time, and hasn't been moved, or even started, in all that time. The two batteries are therefore almost certainly shot, as are the tyres which have been flat for as long as I can remember. I don't remember it leaking, but if it has then the inside will be grim. Weeds have grown around it, which won't have done the underside any good, and overall it is extremely unlikely that you would ever get it back on the road again.
All of that said, I have a 3.0td Trooper that is probably less likely to start in the cold than the bulletproof engine in the 3.1. I'm sure if it still turns over, and fresh fuel was put in, it would start. It always used to fire up at the first spin.
I haven't got any pictures yet, as I thought I would test the water on here first. If nobody is interested, then it will go to the breakers at the weekend and there is no point doing it a photo-shoot, but if anyone wants it then I'll try to get pictures to you.
If it helps, it is a lwb manual model and is the maroon colour with the grey patterned seats. The gearbox, clutch and a front wing were all replaced shortly before I parked it up, and although I can't vouch for anything now, all the electrics worked at that time. I'm sure there are a lot of usable spares on it, but I'm not in a position to break it myself so it has to go complete. I also have a new exhaust for it somewhere, but would want something for that as it is unused.
It will obviously have to be towed away, and it is in a pretty awkward place to get to with a trailer. Again, if you are interested I'll send pics so we can work out how to get it on your trailer. It is located in Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire, which is about ten miles due North of Junction 25 of the M25.
It's up to you - you can come and collect yourself a freebie and make/save money on the spares alone, or I'll get it to the breakers somehow and get myself a few quid for it. I would rather it was the former though, as even it the state it is in, scrapping it just seems a waste.
Cheers all.
