Hi all i have just purchased a monty 3.1td ltd and i am having starting issues i have replaced both batteries as it seemed this was the problem but they just discharge all the power and then boom cant start again very irritating as i need the vehicel for work! i have ordered a second hand alternator which will arrive on tuesday and hopefully that will do something but does anyone have any other suggestions as well? if i dont get this thing going reliabley the missus will string me up foir buying it as she hates it already and its getting worse lol!!!!!!!!

Hi i presume you have done a leak test on the batteries - 9/10 rapid discharge is the alternator though best to check the interior lights are turning off and the radio too

please can any body help me, having problems with my trooper it keeps cutting out on me,told it could be water in the diesel,so i took it to the garage to be emptied,and have the inside of tank cleaned out,i was told that the tank was corroding in places and was advised to have it replaced,which i have done,also had new fuel filter,and a fuel treatment put in the tank aswell,having done this my trooper struggles to start,when it does she just dies out on me,when driving pulling up to traffic lights or a crossing,she just cuts out,can anybody advise me on this please,thanks,ginna007.....

You could try taking the earth lead off one battery after you have charged them both up - that way if one is low on power and wont start the brute  then you have a spare to use .
If one wont start it then the battery is at fault I would think.
