I have looked at the position off the alternator on my monty and wondered if there is anyway too get it at from underneath or am i beter taking of the power steering pump i think it is above it and going in that way any help would be greatly appreciated Evil or Very Mad

Driver's side wheel off, and in through the side of inner wing/arch area. If you've got A/C, take the pump/compressor off out the way too, for access from the top.

The unit above is not the power steering its the air con pump, if your air con works dont undo the pipes  Wink

hi, just had a go at this without removing the air con pump and i must say it`s a b#####d of a job,scraped nuckles and so on so, i`d strongly advise anyone about to tackle this to take the time to remove the A/C unit for both access and to allow space to withdraw the alt itself. Mad

I always take the AC compresser out. Takes an exstra ten minuets but alows you to remove the alt with ease,  no stress or spanner rash.
