it's best to start on a play site where you can get to grips with how your truck feels and handles in an open and controlled maner

A few of us are going out on Saturday over saddlworth ect, the best way to start is with some gentle laning and you are more than welcome to join us  Cool

Theres plenty of nice green lanes between you and Buxton, what you need is an OS map and look
for +-+-+-+- It means Byway open to all traffic, but even when they are marked they are sometimes closed or not passable.
I'm sure some of the guys here have the grid references for ones that are still drivable.

Any desent bookshops like Borders, Waterstones also sell OS maps.

or to practise eebuygum for second hand older ones

Just be careful wih older maps a lot of the vehicle access routes may be no longer available.
