Made some brackets for the center bench, rounded all the edges, sanded and slapped a coat of mahogany wood stain to tie all the different types of wood together. Have varnished all the wood since this pic.
Let the kids put their mark on the transom

Quite fancy Kingfisher, but it's a bit of a cliche... _________________ Front Aussie Locker - Rear LSD - Petrol Diffs

Took it out for a test and while the boat performed beautifully sadly the engine seems to be no good. It runs slow like in the vid and dies gradually, you have to lift it out of the water to let it speed up then drop it back in, this will keep you going for 2-3min before it slows too much. Just a couply of times it ran realy well with good thrust.
Have tried every thing but can't sort it. It looks like a cracked block, head or gasket. *beep*.
Vid
Anyway, at least I got the kids out in it once! _________________ Front Aussie Locker - Rear LSD - Petrol Diffs

Can't imagine it'd be hard to rebuild though, not much more than a lawnmower engine. probably just needs new rings. _________________ Phil

I suppose you could buy a nice little outboard for less than it would cost to repair, especially with the false rumours that 2 strokes are going to be banned. _________________ |

£36 isnt bad, and when its back on form it will last another 50 years _________________ |

Well I chucked a new block and rings on and fired it up in the wheelie bin, all seems OK but will have to bed the rings in and see... _________________ Front Aussie Locker - Rear LSD - Petrol Diffs
