2.8 TD Citation.

Clutch is fine once engaged and does not slip even under full load.

It is slow to engage however and the slightest pressure on the pedal gets it slipping.

I'm assuming as its hydraulic there is nothing to adjust.

Before I go spend several hundred hard earned pounds I just want to make sure it is on its way out and not something to do with the hydraulics??

Advice please.

Sounds knackered, but try looking under the dash at where the pedal connects to the master cylinder. there is a rod coming out from the bulkhead that connects to a 'u' piece that connects to the pedal. The rod has a nut on it that can be loosened & the rod twisted to take up pedal slack. Try it to make sure no-one has wound it up too much thus not enabling the clutch to fully dis-engage.

It does sound like the clutch is worn though. Crank open the wallet time I am afraid!

Thx,

I'll have a look at that.

It hasn't got any worse in the last two months, so I'm letting sleeping dogs lie untilthe next service

Chris.
