hi, i have had a 2005 trooper 3.0td for 1 day and today i went to start it,it started fine but when i drove out of the drive it wouldnt rev.
I lthen restarted it after 10 mins left it running until it was warm and it was fine. i phoned the ( non isuzu) servicing dealer who told me the last owner had just started getting this problem and thats why he got rid of it,
my local garage are going to look at it tomorrow but i now wonder what i have let myself in for.
the car has only done 60k and has a full history
can anyone help please

I would be on to IM to see if the current recalls applied  to the car first  - then check my oil level an then see if  I had the right oil (5/30synth) in from the service history.

The symptoms you describe sound like the oil rail pressure sensor - (orps)  failing  but the other forum members may give an exact cause .

If your local garage has experience of these engines all well and good but they do need a Tech II scanner to be accurate in diagnostics.

With the help of the moderator ,star 3.0 man, champion of the harassed owner, revealer of the bad mechanic and helpfull bloke eithan h you will be sorted  Wink

I answered your other thread on the topic - I'm with Gribble in favouring the Rail Pressure Sensor.

You must have 5W/30 in the sump or it will never run right - could be your problem, too.

christ what a build up!!

defo check the grade of oil and if that is 5/30 then you are looking at a orps and remember to get it coded so it runs at it 's optimum
