I;m a mechanic and having issues with a 3.0 and starting (no surprise there!)
Basically when starting from cold the car fires up for a couple of seconds then dies, then wont restart until you either crank long enough to drag fuel from the tank or you manually prime the fuel system, have tried adding some one way valves to stop fuel draining back to the tank with no success. Dont appear to be able to find any valves in the fuel system but i could be overlooking something obvious.
Has anyone here come accross and fixed similar problems? Injectors are all good (recently replaced) and car runs fine once its going... |

Try adding two litres of oil over the full mark ont he dipstick to start off with, could be oil pipe strainer/seal.things you have tried could just give enough time for oil to drain back to sump and allow pickup again.. _________________ Khotso........... |

Could be a simple matter of the wrong oil - It must be 5w30 nothing else
Also it could also be the Oil Pressure sensor _________________ 3.0TD LWB Citation |

I was thinking along the same lines as the above 2 suggestions but then....
I HAD A THOUGHT
The outlet/inlet of the fuel tanks can rot out allowing air in hence why you find you have to keep priming the system so that could be a port of call to. _________________

not so sure as once it finerly start keeps going air entering the fuel line woud be constant
the one way valve solved the overnight fuel draining back into tank
tempted with the oilstrainer or orps on its way out _________________ isuzu 3.0 about to be a 3.1 it is now

Common fault - its pulling in air round the hand primer, try rallymarshals rubber glove trick ! _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

As in it lets the fuel run back to tank from the primer so it just fires on whats in the lift pump and stops . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

From the one way suction valve in the primer as its the highest point the fuel goes to and if the valve lets go the line emptys out .
Would have put this all in one post but I have to look after the rugrats . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |
