Good Day All

I have a 2001 Trooper.  What is the biggest tire diameter and width that will fit without modifying the suspension or installing a body lift?

Thanks

295/5/20 are a 30.5" diameter while the 265/75/16 are 31.6" diameter - the 295's apart from being wider than the standard 245 tyres are actually only 1" bigger in diamater.

Just out of interest will a set of LWB Frontera 255/75 R15 wheels fit onto a Mk.1 Trooper LWB. What would the repercussions be If I did. Seems as if the standard wheels look a bit "small" for the size of vehicle. I could probably get a set quite cheap.

Cheers

Yes easily. They will give 1/2" lift with a 4.1% change in the gearing.

Its a 1990 Mk.1 LWB. Cheers for the reply. Is there a way of tweaking the speedo to account for the change in gearing? For example fitting a frontera gearbox drive or somehow swapping the dials, speedo cable, and gearbox drive.

Most people find they read way under on stock tyres (checked with sat-nav) I'm on 265/70/16 and its pretty accurate now.

Will have to get some on there and check it out. Use a comparison of speedo/satnav on the g/f's car then try again on the new wheels to find the difference. Will report back on findings.

31" tyres with stock diffs brought my speedo dead on.
