Yes I do know pressure is a product of flow but the hpop is a variable displacement pump so you could have 4000psi with ,say 2 l/m flow or 1 l/m and 2000 psi .

Yep going with the swapping idea

but like the pressure test idea too no good at brazing ok with a stick welder and 4 mm rods

the local hydraulics place is big on voss fittings

so hopefully nut and olive might be easy

got ecu and all bits out way

but was stumped as not got a 29 mm spanner

sort it tomorrow

cheers

Inch and an a  eighth  a/f will do it , you will have one as being of the thee and thys land you wont have thrown it away !

Compression fitting wont hold on the HP oil pipe at that diameter and wall thickness ,silver solder maybe ?

If you wanted to go down the pressure test route, I work with a guy that is *beep* hot at brazing, you're welcome to send the bits to me and I'll get it done for you then send it back. Just a thought.

1/4 bsp gauge adaptor with the end filed to suit the pipe radius and one of these -

http://www.hydrotechnik.co.uk/product/1620-minimess-test-point-m-14-x-15-bsp-threaded

Then one of these -

http://www.hydrotechnik.co.uk/sites/hydrotechnik.co.uk/files/productimage/DN2-hose-assembly.jpg

And - http://www.hydrotechnik.co.uk/product/digital-gauge-with-minmax-capture-0-250-0

Or just a bog standard 0 - 1000 psi flat face gauge screwed into the 1/4 bsp adapator. Just dont rev up if it starts !  Shocked

And if I see anybody winding ptfe tape on in any pics of this tool  there will be - trouble .

I will chop a hp oil pipe up and see what wall they have

but feeling how rigid they are should be quite thick

I suppose its a case of what diameter the pipe is to suit fittings

might go the full hog and put a piece of flexy hydraulic in with T so car could still run

other than checking this orcv what other times would it be usefull to check pressure here ?????????

Yep have a 1 1/8 open end but cannot realy get in with it

so off to car boot on Sunday to a bag a 1  1/8 AF ring spanner setting the budget at £4 for a king *beep* or britool

also try and get some hydraulic pressure gauges too

cheers

not an 1 1/8 ring spanner anywhere

ended up sending for one off eblag

£15 for a king *beep*

I am hoping this is the fault.................

cheers

Just another thought I suppose this solenoid is triggered by the ecu

so opens and closes by the by plus and neg

so if I test to see its get signal first

then if its not getting a signal .............No oil pressure...........non start

need to look else where

or send it a fake signal to see if it  starts

does this make any sense ???

cheers

Its more of a proportional control valve than a solenoid it varies the valves movement over the whole range  by using millamps (0.000 of an amp )  just like  the one on a Kawasaki KVD 130 hydraulic pump which is common on modern excavators.
If you put a 12v feed to it you might have trouble !  Solenoids are normallly just on/off

Connect a multimeter set to ma's in line  with the coil feed and on the 0 - 250 ma setting and see if you get a reading when cranking, you need a good quality meter to see these low readings too .

Trouble is you can have the power at the coil but its no proof the internal spool in the valve is moving correctly ,this  can show up on tech 2 as the %  figure for the valve as its normally at 20% - 25% for starting but climbs as the rops says ' no pressure ' to the ECU  up to 90% or HPOP  fully open/max flow .

I have not had the HP pump to bits but from the manual I would guess its an axial piston type with a variable swash plate which is controled by the ropcv so no pressure from the the ropc to the swash plate ,no tilt on the plate , no delivery out the pump as its in negative swash  ,no oil to the rail , no injector pressure .I have found that when you  turn the key off the ropc goes to 0% so injection stops .
