You'll get some strange looks at the front of your car once you have a front tow hitch
One bloke in North Berwick even tried to have a go at me when he reversed into my front tow hitch in a Tesco car park!! no harm was done apart from a crack in his Mercedes bumper I was parked well within the marked bay but apparently I was somehow responsible due to the tow hitch not being 'painted orange' (his suggestion). I politely suggested he learn how to park properly or get an eye test done
Some people, eh? |
Bang on mate, front tow balls are great for supermarket car parks, I love mine, its easy to know when you are close to the car in front, just listen for the crunch LOL _________________ 52 plate Trooper 3.0td citation |

Come on then all you experts I noticed that wattling engineering list a different push bar for a pre 98 trooper to a post 98 trooper it appears in both cases it locates onto the bolts that origonally secured the front towing hooks, as far as I can see a post and pre 98 are the same so whats different to require a different unit and part number being required. _________________ 4x4 Grand Cherokee, Mondeo Estate, Adria Adora 612DT Caravan. |

Well, chassis width for a start, then the arrangement of holes, but most substantially, the front valence and bumper moulding. It's easiest to tell by looking at the fitting instructions, which I have for both… _________________ '98S reg Irish Trooper 3.0DT Citation (LWB 7seat)

Hadn't realised chassis was wider on later models thought it was just cosmetic body changes and the engine that were different, so basically as it looks there's no point me buying one for UBS69 and trying to fit it to a UBS73. _________________ 4x4 Grand Cherokee, Mondeo Estate, Adria Adora 612DT Caravan. |

Definitely not...front and rear widths are different. Also the strapping eyes and towing eye mountings seem different, so the plates to bolt the towbar on are different.
Let me know if you want the fitting guides.
