Can i use used hydraulic oil as fuel in a 3.1 bighorn 1996 , i know i have to pay £0.56 per litre in tax but will it damage the injectors / engine , it will be dewatered and filtered to 1 micron. Thanks.

Hydraulic oil as in what goes in Excavators and similar ? Would not have thought so since its way to thick to be injected or have you got some other thin industrial stuff ? _________________ 2 New Troopers !

did a spell last year runnung pure hydraulic oil both in the 3.1 1996 bighorn and a shogun with no major issues eventually crud from the bottom of the storage tanks started to make a little smoke at start up but soon cleared when back on the expensive stuff. also run bio with no issue except when very cold. WVO although cheap i tend to buy brand new oil from costco at £14 for 20 ltrs. no filter issues and not too thick in summer best advice is slightly mix with a little petrol and try out.

Yeah but I'd mix it with pump diesel max 50/50.
I use some occasionally in my 3.0 and also my mondeo and it seems to keep the injectors nice and clean. Plus it is a good lubricant. _________________ 2001 3.0 DT LWB Duty - Dragon Green Metallic.
