Phoned them three times today. "call back in five miniets"  and  "Call back in 15 miniets".   I had already established
that I wanted to buy a seal kit at £38 from them.
If they dont want my money, I will go elsewhere.

I take back what I said about Diesel Bob.
'Phoned him today and ordered the repair kit £38 + vat.
He said to me "Have you filled up at morrisons?"
I did.  On Saturday in Buxton.....  It was in the car park, waiting for the others, that
I noticed a few drips. He told me that Morrisons use a high level of bio in thier fuel
and it attacks the seals!   It is the first time I have used Morrisons. The Trooper came from Kent
and I live in Bedfordshire.  Morrisons are rare down here and probably don't exist in Kent.

He volunteered the info about the fuel with no prompting from me.   Coincidence?
Does anyone else know anything about this?

All diesel now has bio in it, but morrisons do sell B30 (orange pump) bio wont harm a 2.8.

But funny how the leak started  an hour after filling up.  I didn't prompt him in any way.   Strange.

Just did a quick search.................................

New Sun 11 Jan 09 11:58
Morrisons new bio-diesel - Big Norm
I was at a SEAT dealer the other day and there was a new notice saying if you use the newest type of Morrisons bio-diesel you will invalidate the warranty on your fuel system, including various bits of the engine. The notice said this new diesel contains 30% (I think that was the proportion) of bio diesel (mixed in with the regular stuff) which was not compatable with the engine.

Morrisons new bio-diesel - ifithelps
Saw a similar notice in a Ford dealer yesterday.

88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

“Of course, there may be an element of over-caution pending further tests. But for now owners who miss warning notices on pumps, or who ignore the advice of their car maker, risk invalidating warranties and paying for repairs further down the line.”

Harvest Energy, which supplies B30 to Morrisons sites, says there have been no operational issues with a fuel that has been on sale for the last two years and that B30 presents a 15 per cent greenhouse gas reduction on a well-to-wheel basis.

Trooper now fixed.    Diesel Bob got the bits to me NEXT DAY.    I got the seal out and yes, it had gone hard.

I will say that what did not help was that the pump in the tank had not been disconnected when
someone changed the engine from petrol to diesel. This caused pressure behind the seal and it failed.

I think I got it down to 5 miles to the gallon!  Most of it going down onto the road!
