How difficult is it to remove the rear bumper trim?

Mine has taken a bit of a bashing recently and I want to straighten all the mounting brackets and refit

Pretty easy from what I remember, just a few bolts, and some slidy clip things on the sides, these just slide out once the main 4 bolts are undone.

If its anything like mine the side clips will crumble in to brown dust leaving the ends of the bumper to flap freely in the wind.  Sometimes I wonder if they used the same steel supplier as FIAT.

My right hand side does that as well, I want to take the bumper off and fit new side clips but im scared the whole thing will fall to bits because it looks very rusty behind the plastic.

I noticed today that mine has decided to completely detach itself from the right hand side, the mud flap is now hanging quite low, it looks like an L shaped bracket has rusted through, is this where one of the 4 bolts hold it in place? think i will have to do something about it soon.

No I don't think so, as you said it's a little L shaped bracket, adds support to the mud flaps, mine have dissapeared too! The slidy clip thing is higher up, sounds if that may have gone too, as on my my mudflaps just move a little more, bumper is fine.

Yeah the slider clip has also gone on that side, I think the L shape bracket has been holding it up almost in place until now when it has snapped as well.

*beep*.

The Drivers side on my rear bumper has dropped over the weekend too !
I was hoping a little fab of an L- Bracket might be all it needs but it has come off the slider too.

Reckon this might be a can of worms, but I not spending  that ^^^^ amount on bits and pieces !!
Shocked

I got mine held quite well with 2 long cable ties, I threaded one through what was left of the bracket on the bumper to pull it into the body and the second cable tie looped over the circular plastic part on the body to lift the bumper up, it was a temporary measure but its held it well so far.
