It is easy to get a replacement mast on Eblag for about £20 and is a simple replacement.  Don't need the full unit.

thanks again but i tried all that when i got it back from the dealers, i had power at the unit and turned the cog wheel by hand so i know the mast wasn't stuck, i assumed either the motor or the relay/micro-switches were nackered. its also easier to change the whole unit than mess about stripping it down.

got the unit out and plugged it back in on the footwell floor, turned on ignition and i could hear the microswitch click and also when i put the switch up and down. 99% sure motor is forked. the motor is made by johnson electrics so i went on their website, cant find the right motor but will ring them tomorrow.
does anyone know if isuzu do a replacement motor for the unit or even how to test the motor on a bench properly Question   Question  Question

When mine broke I laughed at the fella in the isuzu parts shop when he said £232 plus vat.  Then bought a standard electric aerial and modified it slightly to accept the plastic bit that sits on top of the wing and changed the mounting bracket slightly.  Works fine and only cost about £25.

I did suggest that that included fitting, topping up with with diesel, oil and filter change........ Apparently not, £260ish quid just for an aerial Surprised

no luck with the motor yet, apparently the manufacturers of the motor wont sell to me or tell me who they supply to. no other names on the unit so i'm stuffed at the mo.  also spoke to vauxhall, their aerial is different but may be possible to mod, but it is a special order and cannot take it back. at a cost of £115 + VAT its not worth trying yet (note half price of isuzu). Not giving in yet will try to find a replacement motor. Any Experience with this would be greatly apprieciated.
