usually i put the deisel in at the garage then go home and pour the veg straight into the tank, last week had a change of plan, put diesel in at the garage but i also put 12 litre of veg and 8 litre of diesel in a drum and then when i got home, shook the drum for about 2 mins to mix the diesel and veg as ive read that pouring veg straight in, the veg goes straight to the bottom of the tank and so straight up the pipe,
but mixing in the drum seems to work well, i put 1 litre in a clear bottle to see if it seperated or not and so far it hasnt, so thats what im going to do from now on,
have to say, mine runs sweet as anything on 25% and im getting good mileage, i put 50 litres of diesel and 12 of veg in last week, the light was on and the gauge went to just over 3/4, ive done about 310 mile so far and its between the 1/4 and 1/2 full mark so id say there at least 200 mile left in there, il have a work out when its empty to get a rough estimate what she doing to the gallon _________________ atb kevin

Shaking 20lrs of heavy oil for 2mins, how big are your arms
As y I asked thought it must be better to premix than just pour in, Ok next Dur question, Marky refered to it as
SVO he then put a link up and next to the 81ppltr one was Solid Veg Oil, so in simpelzz termzz
what oil should I be buying _________________ aka x66dag

The cheapest veg oil you can find, the asda one is the 15L boxed tub at £12.17 if you search the asda site for 'ktc cooking oil' its there _________________ |

You dont want solid veg oil, SVO means Straight Veg Oil meaning unused. The oil must be liquid at ambient temperature.
I'm sure Macro do KTC at around £15 for 20 ltrs.
I havent used SVO for ages, been using 100% WVO at 40p ltr dewatered and filtered to 1 micron. _________________ 1996 N Isuzu Trooper Duty LWB 3.1TD

I'm back onto 50/50 mix for the third year running now and she runs alot better on SVO better mpg smoother and it might be just me but she has more poke on veg, i ran her earlier this year on bio and to be honest mine didn't like it that much alot of smoke on start up and lumpy for the first few miles but now it's warmer and after a good service and filter change she it loving the SVO once more. I have a good friend on a cash and carry so it's happy days for me as my veg cost's me nothing and has done for a long time however when i do need to pay for my svo Asda is where i grab the odd 15 lts |

Just to add i do keep ontop of my fuel filter changes and have always carried a spare fuel filter and also every now and then i do pop some fuel line cleaner in the tank and touch wood it works for me ... but to be honest even if i do have any problems it has more than paid for itself ... my suzie only cost me £550 and i have had many many happy motoring miles in her for a fraction of the cost ... did Manchester to Dorset and a week pottering around and then back again last year with a caravan on and only put in about £30 of derv so that was more than 50/50 but she ran happy and smelt great i love her to bits |
