I have replaced my 3.0l with a 2.8 Turbo. Now need to do the first service but am having difficulty removing the oil filter. It is below the turbo and I cant get it from the top or from the bottom. Any ideas?

I just used a strap wrench and a couple of long 1/2" drive extension bars and never had a problem, there was enough room to get my big paws down to fit the new one too, mind you there might not be as much room with it in a 3.1 than the old MK1 body.

Its pretty easy, but I allways cover the exhaust etc with card as it spills oil.

only thing that spolit it was the shop gave me a filter for the frontera 2.8 engine which is a 4JB1
which is the same engine in my trooper but the trooper one is not as tall so i got another on and fitted it in 3 min
