lol this thread has come on no end i hadnt seen the other replys lol.
i hit a dead dear last year in the grand vitara after a bus hit it the first go couldnt swerve or hit the brakes as got a horse trailer on with a horse so hit it full on.
only damage done was the gearbox mount and tenderised parts of dear stuck to the bottem of the vitara and trailer by the time we got to our destination it stunk rotten _________________

You did the best thing, I worked in Kielder for a bit and we were told not to swerve because more people get hurt by driving off the road to miss a deer than got hurt hitting one, thankfully I didnt get first hand experience.
I saw a picture a while ago of a car that hit a deer and it had gone in through the front vent and not much damage then the next picture was with the bonnet open and the deer was squished in the engine bay, very messy.
