Hi! Can anyone tell me if the timing belt (change due) warning light actually works?! My Bighorn has done approximately 53k miles (I hope ) and I'm wondering when I can expect to see this light come on - apart from with ignition! And...do you have to take it to a dealer to cancel and reset the light? All answers gratefully received. Leo. |

To reset the timing belt light on my 93 trooper you need to remove the instrument cluster and move a screw from one position to another. Can find out exactly where the screw is and you can do this yourself so no need for a main dealer. If your mechanic uses the data books for timing belt instructions/times it should tell them how to do this, the Wurth System that i have access to tells you this.
Hope this is of help.

The timing belt light will come on once you've done 60K.
Cheers JIM. |
