No not an auto, just nerves & inexperience I suppose.
Are you going to tell me I should have rode the gear? My pal did it in first in his Frontera & flew down.

I'd appreciate your input, I take criticism well Very Happy

Re Defender
Me & his brother were driving my Trooper & his Frontera & the quarry owner said to the Defender driver upon arrival
"Ah nice to see someone in a vehicle that can handle this sort of stuff",

All I'll say is I didn't get a lift home.

Low box first gear for steep decents and control with the throttle if you think your *beep* is going to pass you Laughing

As for Landy's and the rough stuff...........well............what did he break Laughing

Cheers, next time I'll try first gear & see how I go.

As for the Defender, he lost his brakes.. They gradually got worse of the journey down & he'd lost most of the fluid.

It's a pretty good site & only £20. There are all different levels of course & some deep water, which I avoid, Ive seen the down side to that.
I think the difference between drivers are those who just nail their trucks & dont care about the consequences & those, like myself, that don't wan to ruin their ride & just have a bit of fun.
I watched some kid in a Defender tackle a climb for about 15-20mins & then ended up on his roof after he rolled it, I'd be gutted if I did that.

Thanks for the comments fellas.

I don't want to criticise, just dont know how much you do and don't know, if your well into off roading i dont wanna try teach you to suck eggs, but likewise if you want some advice im more than happy to try an help,

If you find yourself going for the brakes wedge your heels under the seat or only cover the accelerator, 1st gear low should give you a nice steady controlled descent + like Adz said if rear starts trying to overtake the front give it a bit of gas to pull things straight  Very Happy

Ive been offroad a few times now, in various trucks, but now having my own truck I'm more aware of what I'm doing &  I'm always looking to improve so cheers for chipping in.
I think between wedging my foot under the seat & stopping my balls from going into my stomach I reckon I've got my hands full!!
