First off many apologies to Rebelpaul for not being quite with it Saturday. That tank swap was proving annoying to say the least. Here is what I had to contend with along with sheared bolts, split pipes, and rusted solid jublee clips. Mind I think I did a good job of it all considering it was literally a field repair, even the straps had rotted through:

Comparison:

Tank ready to go in:

Anyways .. after that I got myself some recovery shackles. Think they look rather nice:

Then on Sunday went for a bimble and took some photo's:

And what I thought was the "Best in Show vehicle" ... an immaculate Series 1 Lightweight. It was perfect. A real concours.

Yes it did Marky ... and to be honest it looked as if it all still worked. Seeing it dominate the play couse was funny. It dwarfed absolutely everything.

i love the Stolly - what a tremdous bit of kit - Alvis no longer exist in their original form but what a monster
we used to swim them on a regualr basis
Had one stolen and it got half way over the channel - the guys were running out of fuel so turned around before the point of no return
When we arrested them we checked in the back and found it was a POD - with loads of petrolstored in the back lol
both the guys served time and then got jobs with Alvis
regards
Steve
