|
|
Took our Suffolk punch to a show a couple of weekends ago and the daughter was driving. I couldnt help noticing the old 3ltr girl was struggling.
I drove back from show (to see if it was the daughters driving) and was struggling to maintain a steady 50mph with horse and trailor (where roads allowed).
There was no sign of rough running just lack of power which only showed up when towing. I had'nt had any sign of this with out the load (horse and trailor).
Obviously the first thing to change was the Fuel filter which had only been changed less than 2000miles ago. With this done it was a total transformation the next week when we took horse and trailor to the Suffolk show .
I am supprised to have to change a fuel filter within 2000 miles and am hoping it is a one off and not a sign of crud finding its way in somewhere.
Fingers crossed. _________________ Never let a meal go by----Empty sacks dont stand up!!! |

I had a similar problem the 3.lit would not accelerate but then just shoot off.
Changed the fuel filter and its like driving a new truck |

Ok, thanks for the info!
I've got my synth 5/30 oil now so plan to do the service this weekend, I'm using the Boshi filters from Milners, but I'm not 100% sure about this
I keep thinking, "4 filters for £12? no good!" then "they sell thousands, surely they won't sell junk" .....
I've worked in the motor trade for many years now and rarely fit cheap filters, and have never heard of Boshi
So, do I or don't I ????
Opinions on Boshi please...help!! _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB

I get my sevice items from my local factor. They supply Blue print filters for the trooper which i am more than happy with.
Lots of people on here use Boshi filters from milners and seem happy with them. I guess its down to personel choice. _________________ Never let a meal go by----Empty sacks dont stand up!!! |

I used Boshi filters on my 3.1 but found them to be cheep and would never use them again.
The oil light would stay on for ages at start up with a Boshi oil filter fit, changed mine to a genuine oil filter and the oil light goes off with in a couple of seconds on start up.
Mines due a service and its getting all genuine filters again. |

I've noticed a delay in the oil light going off since fitting the boshibodgers
Think I will get it changed, should have stuck with my original views on cheap filters _________________ 1999 3.0 TD Duty SWB
