|
|
Hi all,
I've just taken delivery of my first set of alloys fitted
with Cooper Discovery AT tyres, standard size for my MK1 Trooper.
That made a bit of a dent in my bank balance
My question is does anyone know what I should torqe the nuts upto?
I don't want to over tighten them and damage the wheel.
Also what about tyre pressures.
With my old Federals I kept them at about 30 psi.
Cheers Martin |

I have 235/75 15's General Grabber AT2's and I run them at about 30 to 32 PSI as to torque I just tighten up by hand with a wheelbrace by feel but mine has Shogun alloys on it with the big flat type wheelnuts. Your alloy supplier should be able to advise on wheel nut torque. _________________ Phil

Phil,
That's what I thought about 30 psi tyre pressure, thanks.
As for the wheel nut torque settings, I did phone the supplier and ask the question and the guy said well I'm not sure as I'm sales staff and didn't know.
Then he disappeared for a few minutes to ask someone and came back with an answer of 118Ibs torque and tyre pressures 3psi.
I didn't argue with him because he obviously didn't know.
So I thought I would ask the question here.
I'm going to put them on tomorrow so I'll just do it by feel.
Thanks again Martin |
