I was going to get a clown loach for the 60L tank, but was told it would outgrow the tank fairly quickly. I'll see how things go for a while with the new tank and maybe get one in a few months.

A clown can grow fairly quickly to 4-5" after that it would take years for them to (if they ever do) get to a full size of about 12", You rarely see them at that size though. They have the right name too, They'll make you laugh and scare the pants off you when they are upside down on the bottom motionless (little fekers)  Wink

Well, we're getting there slowly.........

Changed 6 of the 8 filters today for new ones, having soaked them in the old tank first. Good job they're only a quid each  Laughing .

The "old" tank.........

Complete with external lamp, coz the transformer for the internal lamp has blown. (seemed like a good enough excuse to replace the tank to me Laughing  Laughing )

Nice looking tank, will be good when settled and can get the fish transferred.

Got me a slight problem, and a bit of a "DOH !"

I'm getting a mains hum off the pumps, and it's resonating through the cabinet and into the floorboards. In certain parts of the room it's quite loud. I knew I should have put a mat between the tank and the cabinet  Rolling Eyes .

I'm going to have to see if I can dampen the pumps where they mount onto the tank somehow.

I get it if my air pump touches something, I can live with it but Deb swears at me Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Have you got a air diffuser type internal filter, What i mean is can it put air in the water stream? If so mine is noisy as hell and i dampen it by putting half a cotton bud in the air intake. I hope you followed that because i don't know if i would have if i didn't know what i was on about Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

I also have an air pump and stone.

No, the filter housings hook over the rear glass panel, so the actual housing is outside the tank. (which means I am going to have to keep a close eye on the filters, or get a wet carpet  Rolling Eyes ). I've just sussed that one is quiet, and the other is noisy. I reckon if I put some foam padding where they rest against the glass it should do the job.

It's all seperates on this tank. Maybe one day I'll get a stand-alone filter, the type that sits on the floor.

The only air I've got is from a seperate air pump and stone.

I now have fish.
I work in a medical centre and a patient attended and was admitted to hospital but had a goldfish with them
From the fair (child) and would not go unless someone adopted his fish, I was volanteered as I have a small child.

So the week after when it had not died (this is 3 months ago) we got a round simple tank and another goldfish , Bob and Wanda.

But the tank kept turning green every 3 days . So I was sent to collect a "bargain" out of the yellow paper
A 60ltr tank with filter and pump for £30 quid when I got home the filter and pump did not work lol. eebuygum for replacements.

Then my obsessed wife filled the tank with fish , too many infact the raised nitrates killed bob and Wanda and his new pals lol.

3 months down the line we now have 3 tanks after leaving them alone for a few weeks and us becoming the home for unwanted fish tanks among our friends lol and for 2 months we have only 1 fish die

But I dread my wife saying she is off to the garden centre as she comes back with more fish.... Lol
