Hi, just brought this trooper 1996. the electric aerial goes down but not up. its just old. you can pull it up but of course when you switch off the engine it goes back down. is there any way or leaving it up? ie like removing a fuse? (as long as the fuse is not needed for anything else.

thanks

martin

I think it's fuse C11 in the drivers footwell but it also covers the audio and possibly the mirrors as well.

It is a design fault that it is on the N/S as a lot of them were designed for the LHD market, leaving it up permanently could end up with it getting broken.  The wiring comes through the bulkhead on the passenger footwell pillar area, I suppose you could tee in and put some form of switch there but the auto aerial retracts as soon as the power is turned off so not sure how you would do it.

Looks like C16 comes into play as well - wiring diagram on p.2945 of the manual online
