Hi Folks
Couldn't find it anywhere on the site, but how much oil needs to be added to take it from low to high on 3.0 dipstick and presumably has to be a 5W/30 designed for diesels?
Never had any challenges with oil levels in the past but it is getting towards the lower mark and it was only serviced about 1,800 miles ago and must admit didn't check it immedately after as we usually do. _________________ JDW

From what I can remember its About half a litre to take it from min to max on the dipstick. _________________ 2000 3.0 Trooper Duty swb |

Why is the recommended oil for the 3.0 Trooper commercial (van version) 10W/40 semi-synthetic ?
Main Isuzu dealer has been putting that in mine when servicing and assure me it's the correct oil. I also notice that the data sheets at Halfords say the same - definitely a different grade for the commercial.
Confused. |

It's the same engine. Mine is a commercial and I wouldn't dream of running it on anything other then 5w30 fully synthetic. Because the injectors are fired by high pressure oil, semi synthetic breaks down too quickly. _________________ 2000 3.0 Trooper Duty swb |
