I have negotiated with the other half (did the dishes lol) and have the ok to attend this big bash
But have to sacrifice a golf weekend (no competition I'm *beep* anyway) so put me down for Fri Sat Sun night and

Get another member from your area to go to the meeting hire a trailer/transporter drive one tow one and share fuel costs

4-5 hours drive ........ knackering.

Welll as you only live 5 mins from the bash, it would only be fair that you take a trailer north and pick him up

Ok, I've explained to the Mrs what a great bunch you are, that there'll be other families attending and its camping by a pub. We can bring the caravan and stick the pedal bikes in etc.
She's coming around to the idea, even though it involves re organising the little uns birthday party
So, one pitch is required Saturday to Monday please! 3 adults and 4 kids for the BBQ too
