I've just bought a 1996 LWB 3.2v6 as a winter car (keeping salt off a 300+ bhp rear wheel drive sports car!!) - it makes quite a contrast !!!
Seems to be OK and has MOT to Nov06, although lacking service history for a 1 owner vehicle. I've also called for any outstanding "campaign" work, but there isn't any.
The Steering makes 3 quite loud "CLICKS" as it is being turned either way. Any advice on what this is? It generally drives quite true and there doesn't seem to be any loose wheels or play in the steering itself.
Answers gratefully received.
Can anyone recommend a good specialist / dealer in the Reading / Wokingham area??? and if so, what is their hourly rate?
Many thanks,
Mark |

If the noise seems to be inside the car or you feel it through the wheel then I would say maybe a duff UJ in the steering column somewhere.
I have had cars make that sort of noise from the little peg in the column that cancels the indicators. Don't forget as a 4x4 you'll have more turns lock to lock and so it is possible you may go past it three times. _________________ Phil

you'll be realy suprised when the steering lock engages then, as a matter of urgency I would have that looked at, had same sort of thing in a toyota abroad click, click for a week then right turn only.

i bet its the horn copper bit grinding against the ring on the back of the wheel, mine does this, give the wheel a tug towards u and it then disappears...odd init. Play in the UJs ive narrowed it down to. |

some times the lugs that knock the indicators off play up you have to remove the steering wheel though to have a look |
