The ITOCUK forums have been upgraded this morning to include some additional security features and enhancements.

One of the features that has been included is a restriction on attempted logins - You now get up to three goes at logging in - if you fail three times consecutively, then you will not be able to login again for a period of 10 minutes. This particular change is in place to prevent ongoing hack attempts on phpBB forums.

If you notice any unusual behaviour in the way that the forum software is running, please let me know asap.

ATB

Simon

Posted here as I couldent think of anywhere more suitable!

Would it be practical/possible/what do others think to make a members location a mandatory requirement when joining the forum? This would not be giving much away but I find it a great help in imagining the circumstances of posts etc.

it would also be a help in offering advice if close enough could just say come round and then post the results for others to learn from
could also direct them to local sources for parts
