these are the little pics next to your name 
this is a quote from the profile
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 100 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 4 KB.
so that tells you how big it can be. here's what you do.
1. get your pic(choose carefully,everyone will see it,remember this is a family forum)
2. resize it,you will need a photo imaging program for this something like photoshop.
resize in small steps,take your time,it gives better results
3. upload your avitar in the profile panel
4. admire your work,it's that easy
anyone having problems with resizing,just drop me a pm |

OK i think i now have a signature ,see bottom of this , but when i go to the avitar gallery in the profiles section i cfind no thing
