I've toyed with the idea of putting a full external cage on my LWB for a while now. They look pretty good as well as being safe  Cool

I don't know whether to just put in a simple internal cage or to remove my roof rack and build a full over the top exterior cage tied to the bars I already have. I would probably mesh out the top so I still have a rack and somewhere to keep all of my roof ornaments  Very Happy  - they obviously wouldn't survive a roll over though but I think would look better.

Here is my trooper in current form

I'd like to bring it down the windscreen pillars to the tree sliders and at the back over the rear windows to the bars over the arches. Has anyone done this and got some pics to show?

I think the snorkel I have would get in the way and am a bit worried it's gonna make my truck even wider at the top stopping me getting through some of the tighter tree sections at the play sites.

Anyone got any ideas Question

Reckon that would look awesome, I like the tree sliders as they are but a full cage would top it Cool

It was fully air supplied, I had a tank (made from a fire extinguisher under the car and a small pump (from a Volvo suspension) and pressure switch under the rear seats. The hose ran up the rear right pillar and I drilled a hole in the roof and passed it though a 25mm gland which was sealed with polyurethane sealant

Its all be removed now as the roof rack was too much of a hindrance offroad  Crying or Very sad

I do miss the horns tho...

It's sat in the yard at the moment - I was going to put it on e bay when I got chance but would happily offer it to someone on here first  Smile .

The air horns are going on a friends truck and the front spots have been smashed as it fell over in the yard  Embarassed .

drop me a PM when you are back online - Its too big to post so would have to be collected from Liverpool.

I've PM'd David as he asked first but if he changes his mind or doesn't want it your next in line.

My brother has just made one for his trooper which is really smart. I'd put up a pic but my phone is bust so can't get to it at the moment.

Powder coated black and bolts to the original mounts. Can be made to order if you are struggling to get one.  Wink

Hi Mike,

Mine has been reserved so isn't an option for now unfortunately. My brother has a small one on the back of his SWB which is brand new and that would be £160 and is available now. The old one from his offroader is available too that's a SWB one too but is more functional than pretty, that would be £75.

If you wanted something a bit bigger it would cost a bit more.

My phone is being repaired so I can't get the pictures from my SD card but it should be back next week so I can send them over then.

If you have something specific you want send me a photo and I'm sure he can make something to order.

Cheers,

Frank

In north Liverpool - wait until I have a photo in case its not what you want, It could do with a bit of paint I think. He described it to me as functional over pretty  Wink
