|
|
G'day. Complete newb here. I'm about to collect my Monterey Diamond LWB & the first thing that I want to do is upgrade the central locking to keyless.
I've got a basic universal upgrade unit (Cyclone) but need to know whether the locking's +ve or-ve & which wires to tap into. Any suggestions?

Okay, post nearly a year old and still no replies people!
I've still got the kit gathering dust as, even I though found the answer to my original question, I'm left with a new dilemma.
The universal keyless has 2 outputs for the central locking, lock & unlock. So far so good.
BUT............... The driver's door central locking unit has 4 outputs, lock, unlock, de-activate alarm, set alarm.
How should I wire it in? Does it need a diode or can I just join the Lock cable of the keyless into BOTH lock & set alarm? And ditto for unlock?

Very difficult to say as ther is no knowledge of how the OEM system works. If your going to try just add the remote unlock lock first and see what happens, then if the alarm isn't activating I think you definitely put in a diode for each of the alarm modes. _________________ LotusTower - '93 Lotus Bighorn |

eebuygum & I paid about a tenner. They usually go for between that & £15.
Sod's law says there's only one up for grabs at the mo & it's overpriced.
Thanks for the (future) help though _________________ 1995 Vauxhall Monterey

Or remote locking
Chucking the word universal in there helps narrow it down too _________________ 1995 Vauxhall Monterey

Hi BBB, back to your original question , the central locking works on a
-neg pulse to lock and unlock, the wiring is situated behind the left passenger kick panel in the footwell.
I found this out when I fitted a Toad alarm/immobiliser with remote locking.
I'll have a look at the wiring spec if I can find it, as it says which wire colours you need.
If your struggling give Precision alarms a ring on 01268696787, very helpful. |
